A Complete Guide To Facial Reflexology To Take Years Off Of Your Face And Add Years To Your Life!

Reflexology is gentle pressure applied to points on the body to realease blockages that cause discomfort, illness and eventually leads to disease.  Although reflexology can be applied to the face and ears, the most common form of Reflexology is  Foot Reflexology and Hand Reflexology.

The art of Reflexology is not new.

It is believed the Chinese developed this system of techniques thousands of years ago.  It also believed the Indians, Egyptians and the Japanese practice similar techniques to promote health and well-being.

Reflexology is an art that heals with the principal that there are reflex areas on the face, feet, hands and ears  that corresponds with the organs and glands of the physical body.  By applying pressure on specific points, leads to healing the body through clearing internal energetic pathways.

During a reflexology session these points are worked on by applying gentle but firm pressure.  Although the feet are one of the most sensitive areas of the body, reflexology treatment is pleasant which enables relaxation during a session.  A reflexology session should not be painful.

A Reflexologist should work slowly and gently applying pressure to each point on the hand, foot or ear whilst covering all the reflexology zones to clear energy blockages within the whole body for optimal health.

One can easily give themselves a Hand Reflexology or Foot Reflexology treatment by following a Reflexology Chart.   A good Reflexology chart like the one above clearly show the outline of the organs in relation to the feet or  hands, that need to be treated to correct specific problems.

Reflexology is a very popular form of healing which heals the whole body.  Reflexology promotes relaxation, improves circulation, soothes aching feet and reduces pain.

An excellent tool to learn reflexology is Reflexology Deck (DK Decks) (Cards) by Barbara Kunz and Kevin Kunz.  The Reflexology Deck is a simple, portable step-by-step guide with illusstrations that show which reflexes to press and which techniques to use when practicing reflexology. Including "quick-fix" routines to use at home or in the office or while traveling. DK Decks are clear and concise and combine  straight forward information.

Other healing benefits of Foot and Hand Reflexology include the relief of stress and anxiety, cleanses the body of toxins and impurities, insomnia, sports injuries, back and neck pain, sinus and ear problems, digestive problems, menstrual disorders, arthritis and hormonal disorders and revitalize energy levels.

Foot Reflexology is not foot massage.  Reflexology clears away blockages in the inner energy field, which enables the body to heal leaving the receiver feeling energetic and rejuvenated.

The art of face, foot and hand reflexology provides a more specific method of diagnosing problems within the body.  Reflexology is based on the belief that the body is divided into ten vertical zones which each correspond to different areas on the feet and hand.

It is believed that any organs in these zones can be affected if a particular area is causing a problem. These zones run from the top of the head to the tip of the toes.

During a session a therapist may note an area of pain on the foot or hand and this indicates there is a imbalance in the corresponding organ of the body.

A typical Reflexology session lasts around an hour, in which you will be asked to sit in a chair or lie on a massage table and  remove your shoes and socks.  Otherwise no other clothing is removed.

Many people today often give themselves a reflexology treatment on a daily or weekly basis to promoted good health and well-being.

   Reflexology and Massage

Today many massage therapist realize the benefits of Hand and Foot Reflexology, use Reflexology to assist with relaxation and removing blockages during a massage.  Reflexology can easily be incorporated into any form of massage therapy with amazing healing results.  Reflexology can easily be incorporated into remedial massage to assist muscle release in problem areas, especially when the inflammed or problem area is very painful for the client, to touch.

    Reflexology Socks

Reflexology socks are a fantastic way for people who have not trained in Reflexology to be able to perform a foot reflexology healing session on themselves and others or those who are just learning Reflexology.  By placing the reflexology sock over the foot you have an instant map showing the location of the corresponding internal organs.  Excellent for beginners  of  Reflexology.

As a massage therapist and reflexologist I recommend that if you have a injury or problem then seek advice from a medical practitioner or qualified therapist to begin with. Once the condition is treated then you may have a go at reflexology yourself.
